42 Arab and foreign countries participate in the 20th edition of Sharjah Heritage Days
SHARJAH, 14th February 2020 (WAM) — The Sharjah Institute for Heritage is organizing the 20th edition of the “Sharjah Heritage Days” from March 1 to March 21, under the slogan “Heritage and Creativity” in 12 cities of the Emirate of Sharjah, with the participation of 42 Arab and foreign countries and 40 government agencies.
This came during the press conference held by the Institute today at the Sharjah Museum of Old Cars, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Heritage Institute and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Sharjah Heritage Days, His Excellency Major General Saif Al-Zari Al-Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, and Abu Bakr Al-Kindi, general coordinator of Sharjah Heritage Days, a group of dignitaries and officials, and a group of media representatives.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam said that Sharjah is adorned every year with its beautiful heritage days, whose celebrations spread throughout the emirate, starting from the heart of Sharjah, where the historical and heritage monuments and evidence are still visible and testifying to the beautiful past and the authentic heritage, reaching the central and eastern regions and the historical landmarks and heritage buildings they include. It is ancient thanks to the support and encouragement of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. It is Sharjah’s gift to heritage and a bridge that brings together the cultures of the world with its diversity and richness, along with the fragrant breezes and fragrant memories of our beautiful heritage.
He explained that the Sharjah Heritage Days contributed, through its successive sessions, to highlighting the aesthetic values of the vocabulary and elements of the Emirati heritage, and was keen to consolidate Emirati values, traditions, and customs, thus reflecting Sharjah’s civilizational, cultural, and pioneering role in highlighting a lively and vibrant image of the vocabulary of the Emirati folklore in all its forms and aesthetic values.
